Taylor Swift won her second consecutive entertainer of the year award at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night, just 24 hours after she was saluted by first lady Michelle Obama for her charity work on The Kids’ Choice Awards.

Even by Swift’s lofty standards, it was an outstanding weekend — though tempered with a little melancholy.

After hugging her way to the stage, she took a moment to say hello to Kevin McGuire and his family. McGuire, a high school football player and Swift fan who has cancer, was to have been Swift’s date to the awards, but he was hospitalized and couldn’t make it.

“He’s not here but I promised him I would give him a shoutout,” Swift said of the Somerdale, N.J., resident.

The 22-year-old Swift becomes just the second woman to win the award twice after Carrie Underwood accomplished that feat before Swift. She beat out an all-male field that included Kenny Chesney, who was shut out at the awards after leading all nominees with nine. Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson were the night’s top winners with two awards apiece.

Swift did not perform but was an oft-acknowledged presence. In the monologue co-hosts Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton wondered about that rumored date with New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow. She also was a presenter. Swift was given The Big Help Award by Obama in Los Angeles just a day earlier.

“I’m so happy about this,” Swift said after thanking her followers for giving her the fan-voted award. “I want to say to my fellow nominees in this category I respect you so much and I love you.”

Actress/singer Jennifer Lopez has revealed she is struggling to maintain her figure.

The mother-of-two says she has to work twice as hard in less time to stay in shape than she used to now that she has a family.

Every year, TIME curates a list of the 100 most influential people in the world, naming politicians, entrepreneurs and celebrities. The publication has just released a bonus list — of “All-TIME” fashion icons — featuring The Beatles, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Michael Jackson and David Bowie.

The musicians, all of whom were listed in the “Muses” category, landed alongside designers, models, actresses and politicians’ wives. Also named are Seal’s soon-to-be-ex-wife Heidi Klum and David Bowie’s wife, supermodel Iman. English model Twiggy, who has released several albums over the years, also snagged a spot on the list, along with U.K. songstress Jane Birkin.

TIME included a blurb for each honoree, noting why they all made the list, from David Bowie’s “rebellious androgyny” to Lady Gaga’s meat dress and V magazine column. The Beatles were noted for their mop tops and neon suits, Madonna for her influence over ’80s teens, and Michael Jackson for his “Thriller” jacket — still iconic to this day — and glittering glove.

Rapper-turned-fashion designer Kanye West didn’t make the cut, nor did singer Gwen Stefani, who has Harajuku and L.A.M.B. fashion lines, in addition to her Target Kids’ collab. Several fashion icons from the music world, like Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Diana Ross, were also left off the list.

Interesting… Soul sensation ADELE has named BEYONCE as her dream collaborator.

A host of chart-topping acts, including Nicki Minaj and Kelly Clarkson, have namechecked Adele as their ideal duet partner, but the multiple Grammy winner insists the only singer she wants to record with is Beyonce.

She tells French radio station NRJ, “I adore Beyonce. I’ve been listening to her since I was about 11.

“I think her work as an artist and a singer is enviable in terms of the length of her career and how she’s grown and grown but most of my inspirations are old music and sadly they have all died.”

Adele also confirmed plans to put out a new single by the end of the year (12) but warned fans she’ll take much longer to release her third album, adding, “If I didn’t write my own songs, I’d be out next week with a new album. I have to take time and live a little bit. There were a good two years between my first and second albums, so it’ll be the same this time.”

The Someone Like You hitmaker also brushed off concerns she’ll struggle to recreate the success of her chart-topping 21, which has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.

She insists, “I don’t think I’ll feel the pressure for the next album to be as big as the last one because I know that’s not really possible. What’s happened with this album is very rare anyway.”

You’d really think the Bennifer disaster would have taught her a lesson.

Jennifer Lopez was never more unpopular or lampooned than in the aftermath of her nauseating 2002 video for Jenny from the Block which co-starred her then boyfriend Ben Affleck.

The pair were shown cavorting on a yacht, with the Academy Award winning actor nuzzling into J-Lo’s bikini clad body and untying the hot pink top.

Now married to Jennifer Garner with three little ones, Affleck – who was engaged to marry the Latino singer – says he regrets doing the video.

And you’d think that maybe Lopez,42, would too, but apparently that’s not the case.

In fact, she’s gone and done it again, this time a little more desperately with toyboy Casper Smart,24, in the video to accompany her new single Dance Again.

You’ll have to wait until Thursday’s American Idol to see how much in love and lust the couple want you to know they are, but ever benevolent, Lopez has released some teaser shots.

While speaking to a French radio station this week, Adele delivered some news that was one part good, one part bad and all parts intriguing.

Good news first: Coming off her career high in 2011, Adele promised that fans wouldn’t have to wait too long for some new tunes, and vowed that she would have a new single out by the end of 2012.

The bad news?

Well, it’s actually not so much bad news as it is gratification-delaying news: While a new song will be released by year’s end, fans will have to wait roughly two more years before her follow-up album to the record-breaking 21 is out.

“There will be a new song, probably coming out at the end of the year,” she told France’s NRJ. “But then it depends how quickly I write some of the other songs.

“If I didn’t write my own songs, I’d be out next week with a new album. I have to take time and live a little bit. There were a good two years between my first and second albums, so it’ll be the same this time.”

So, speculation has already mounted (well, continued to mount) as to what sort of single is released a full two years before the album it’s supposed to headline. The near-unanimous answer seems to be: a single that’s not from said album at all. Perhaps it’s a title track? From, say, the most high-profile British release of the year?

 

Even if Adele herself is keeping mum, the people certainly seem to have spoken, and the public has all but wishfully decided that all signs point to Adele crooning the theme song for the new James Bond flick, Skyfall. Which, handily enough, his theaters later this year, on Nov. 9.

So the timing fits.

It’s not the first time the rumor’s made the rounds, and it’s probably not the last. But since Adele isn’t in any rush to confirm or deny the reports, we’ll have to wait and see listen.

As for that forthcoming album—which she does seem more than happy to talk about—Adele says that despite the inevitable hype that will come with its release, as far as she’s concerned, the pressure’s off.

Amazing. How Gaga is so much about peace, yet there are still several Little Monsters fighting her proposition by proposing their own Twitter wars. Guys, leave Justin Bieber alone. He’s just a young kid! Expect his followers to start something, but don’t fire back.

It was a sad day for the Twittersphere when “Beliebers” allegedly decided to wage war against the “Little Monsters.”

When Lady Gaga was named the most followed person on Twitter, accumulating more than 20 million followers earlier this month, Beliebers, the fans of Justin Bieber, started an uprising against the reigning queen of pop and her fans.

The Wrap reports it all started when one Belieber posted a typo-ridden message on Twitter, urging her kind to take action:

“To all beliebers this is operation unfollow Lady Gaga. I’m sorry if your a ‘little monster’ but don’t ou want Justin to be #1 followed on Twitter? Well here is the plan we all know that all beliebers with twitter follow Justin and we don’t have to ceate a million account with this plan. First, it’s simple to lok up Lady Gaga on Twitter. Next unfollow her. Simple! I’m not trying to trash Gaga or anything I am a fsan of her music but I think Justin should be #1 followed on Twitter! That’s all but believers please spread the word for me okay? Thank you all that helped!”It’s commonly thought that most Beliebers would trade their first-born child simply for a lock of Justin’s hair, so it was no surprise that they created a hashtag for the mission — launching #OperationUnfollowGaga.

The attack launched on March 28, and though Bieber fans are rabid, the allure of Gaga proved stronger. At the time of this writing, Bieber had yet to dethrone Gaga as the most followed person on Twitter, with only 19,178,665 followers to Gaga’s 21,876,454 followers.

Even though the mission wasn’t successful, it was not well received by Gaga fans. “#OperationUnfollowGaga Oh children, how pathetic. You Bieber disciples seriously need to grow up and get a life….,” wrote one Twitter user, and another added, “#OperationUnfollowGaga. Beliebers, you have gone too far. This is disgusting. SHOW SOME RESPECT. Lady Gaga is awesome.”

The war raged on and when the backlash hit, some accused Gaga’s fans of secretly starting it. “So the #OperationUnfollowGaga trending topic was a prank, thought up by the monsters and then Beliebers got the blame. Ridiculous,” wrote one fan. And now both camps are denying they had anything to do with the operation.

Bieber’s fans have proved themselves to be a powerful army through the use of social media. By organizing themselves online, Beliebers plot to keep Bieber’s music on the top of the charts with the clever concept of the “buyout” mission. According to Gawker, during a buyout, fans “descend in a biblical swarm” on a store that sells Bieber’s CDs and buy out the entire stock — each fan often buys two or three copies. These are fans who have already bought Bieber’s entire musical catalogue online, but are so dedicated to Justin they feel the need to ensure that his CD sales soar.

Neither Bieber nor Gaga has commented on the war between their fans, nor do we expect them to. Bieber fans can take solace in the fact that while Bieber may not be the most-followed on Twitter, he was the most searched person on Google in 2011.

Fitness fad: The singer and her partner are on a strict regime

She was called ‘too fat’ by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld – and now Adele is shedding the pounds.

The singer and her charity campaigner boyfriend Simon Konecki, 36, have each lost almost a stone in the past month by following a strict vegetarian diet. The couple also go jogging with Adele’s dog Louie every morning.

‘The weight is dropping off them and they plan to keep dieting until the end of April,’ says a friend of the 23-year-old Grammy winner, who lives with Simon in a rented £6million pile in West Sussex.

‘They are inseparable – they are losing weight together, getting fit together and planning a future together.

‘Adele says she’s doing her best work and feels healthier than she has for months.’

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy is certainly living like a princess and on Thursday (March 29) her mother was spotted out in NYC, where she picked up a brand new white iron bassinet for the babe. Decked out in a pink neon shirt, pastel patterned skirt, and 60s mod sunglasses, Bey and her mother, Tina Knowles, had workers tote the pricey piece into her Manhattan offices.

Leave it to Beyonce to choose something for her 3-month old that is as extravagant as this frilly, wavy topped bassinet to add to Blue’s already very impressive crib collection. Before she was born, it was reported that Beyonce and Jay dropped over $3,500 for Blue’s first crib, and with it’s retro-styling and hand-crafted detail, we assume the baby’s parents spared no expense for this one, either.

Blue unfortunately couldn’t make it out with her mother on this shopping trip, but the “Countdown” singer and her daughter have been no stranger to the NYC streets in the past few weeks. On Tuesday (March 27) the duo stepped out in style, well, Beyonce did at least, looking fierce in a grey cardigan, skinny jeans, and a grey fur sling that covered Blue from the paparazzo’s shot.

With new movie and album rumors afloat, B is also slated to return to the stage over Memorial Day Weekend with a 3-show stint at Revel’s Entertainment Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
